Review

This is not my first read by the wonderful Melissa Foster, so I knew what to expect before I even opened ‘Mick’. Here is what I knew: 1. It was going to be passionate, sexy and hot, hot, hot; 2. It was going to be a FIVE star; 3. My heart strings would not only be pulled; they would be shredded; 4. I was going to fall in love with Mick Bad. And surprise, surprise! ‘Mick’ did just that!
This novella is the first in the ‘Bad Boys After Dark’ and the fifth in the ‘After Dark’. The ‘After Dark’ series is a sort of large, overarching banner series to ‘Wild Boys After Dark’, ‘Bad Boys After Dark’ and ‘Good Girls After Dark’. If you haven’t checked out ‘Wild Boys After Dark’, BE SURE TO!
I loved how relatable the characters were! It was as if they were personally designed to appeal to me! The connections I forged with them allowed for me to experience their world on a very high level! I couldn’t have asked for better characters!
I loved how the novella didn’t just contain the passionate scenes but it focused on a real story. One that sounded and felt real with a depth of emotion and design. These characters felt like real people because of the history that each was given. I was completely enchanted!
Amanda Jenner was a great female lead! I felt like she perfectly captured the shy and insecure parts of every women. Those determines to escape their shells and become somebody more confident and sexy.
Mick Bad has topped my favourite male lead in this series! I feel like with every consecutive new novella, each male lead has risen above the previous. He was mighty sexy and I admired the thought and background that the author put behind him!
The writing style was great! It conveyed a lot with the simplest of words and this really showed itself. I really admire this about Melissa Foster!
Despite the short length of the novella, I found it highly entertaining! I as a reader I thought that the short length would draw away from the power and emotion that usually make these types of romance novels…but once again I was mistaken. I wouldn’t doubt picking these novellas up despite their short length. They’re well worth it!
Congratulations to Melissa Foster on publishing the first instalment in the ‘Bad Boys After Dark’ series!

Rating Plan
1 star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
2 star : Didn’t like it, didn’t find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
3 star : An average book. Wasn’t bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
5 star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that it’s 5 STAR!
