Review: The Brilliant World of Tom Gates (Tom Gates, #1) by Liz Pichon

The Brilliant World of Tom Gates (Tom Gates, #1)The Brilliant World of Tom Gates by Liz Pichon

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

*sigh* What can I say about ‘The Brilliant World of Tom Gates’? It reminded me A LOT of ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’!! Except the character was in primary school instead of high school (or middle school for those living in America) and his storytelling/writing was even more horrible than Greg’s! Plus, not only was he selfish, simple-minded, ridiculous and annoying but he was even more of a typical boy than Greg could ever be – and that’s saying something! I felt so sorry for Tom’s sister, who the dude harasses at every turn. I genuinely feel sorry for her. All she’s every done is be grouchy! And yes, she calls Tom “creep” but what sibling nowadays doesn’t?
Anyway. I’m gonna endeavour to finish this series. Hopefully, Tom will get smarter.
Congratulations to Liz Pichon on publishing a the start of a new series!
