Review: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Wuthering HeightsWuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

‘Wuthering Heights’ was a classic I disliked a lot and one that I was uneager to pick up from the beginning but endeavoured to give it a go nonetheless. I still don’t understand the whole “Catherine + Heathcliff” drama even now after reading it. I disliked both characters and it seemed that the only reason that the story existed was to recount the consequences of Catherine’s and Heathcliff’s actions. I also wondered why their love story took up only half of the novel and the rest of the novel seemed dedicated towards the lives of their children. The only characters I liked was the young daughter Cathy and Edgar; but even then only at the very end.
Congratulations to Emily Bronte on publishing a classic!
