‘Aitan’s Revenge’ starts shortly after the escape of Astrea and Lexan from Asphodel. First Leader Keirna creates her own version of the prophecy to fulfil her agenda. Aitan must decide how much longer he will pretend to follow her, and what he will do to gain revenge for his family.
Of all the novellas in the ‘Starbright’ series, including ‘Stian’s Mistake’ and ‘Lexan’s Revenge’, ‘Aitan’s Revenge is my favourite. There is something intriguing about heroic villains and their complicated character. We learn so much about Aitain in this novella, such as: who he really is; his motives; why he does what he does; who he loves and his involvement with Isa in ‘Justice Buried’. We also learn of the events after Astrea’s and Lexan’s departure – something I was really curious about. We also get one massive spoiler, I believe. Something that will happen in book three of the series, ‘Destiny Risen’.
This novella is a story in itself. It has its own little introduction, complication and conclusion; yet another something I loved about it.
There were also no grammatical errors, typos or spelling mistakes.
As its novella predecessors, I finished it in under an hour and thirty minutes, making it an excellent quick read.
I would highly recommend reading this novella before reading ‘Destiny Risen’, the third book, and after ‘Balance Broken’, the second book.
Congratulations to Hilary Thompson on a lovely published novella!
1 star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
2 star : Didn’t like it, didn’t find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
3 star : An average book. Wasn’t bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
5 star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that its 5 STAR!
