My rating: 4 of 5 stars
ARC kindly provided by Hilary Thompson in exchange for an honest review.
This novella takes place during the same time as the beginning of ‘Justice Buried’, the first book in the ‘Starbright’ series. It follows the same chronological order and is written in Lexan’s perspective.
I enjoyed this novella mostly due to the fact that it gave me a deeper understanding as to who Lexan is and why he does what he does for Astrea – why he loves her so unconditionally (even though he will probably not admit it). We learn about Lexan’s life during his time in Asphodel as well as his attempts to get closer to a hateful Astrea as well as his attempts to decipher the propchecy.
This is a really good novella to read due to the fact that the third book, ‘Destiny Risen’, will take place with both Astrea’s AND Lexan’s perpectives.
This novella was also quite short – I finished it in under an hour and thirty minutes.
Congratulations to Hilary Thompson on publishing!

4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
