Silently Still is a coming of age novel about a girl who experiences the consequences of death one too many times. We follow her as she battles her grief and strives to escape all the bad things that turn up in her life as a result. In my opinion, this book didn’t turn out as good as it could have. The author overused the word bittersweet on too many occasions, ruining the moment she was creating. More often than not, the author told us what the characters were feeling and who they were or what we should think of them than showed us who or what they were. There were a few grammatical mistakes and the ARC version I received, highlighted some words in bold which really puzzled me. This novel really seemed like some kind of rough sketch and the ending was all too…quick and final. I really don’t have much to say about Silently Still other than it was an ok book. Congratulations to Julianne Lynch for yet another published book! Good luck on others!
