This is one of those series that I picked up and did not actually regret. I’ve seen someone post that Marie Rutkoski has upped her game – let me confirm that statement, she definitely has… Not only did she continue to build that drama and tension that I was feeling in book 1, she managed to capture all the delicious bits in one tight bundle. The way she ends the book… talk about a cliff hanger? URGH! I was frustrated and curious and eager and excited and overwhelmed and patting myself on the back for being smart enough to find this book on NetGalley and press ‘request’. Needless to say, I’m definitely coming back for the second one. If you haven’t read the first book yet… read it! I have to congratulate the author on her fantastic world-building – the society she creates is a masterpiece that is new, sweet and tangy. Fanatics of ‘The Throne of Glass’ series by Sarah J. Maas will find this one an epic read. Crangratulations to Marie Rutkoski on completing this book, even when life and newborn babies get in the way!
star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
star : Didn’t like it, didn’t find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
star : An average book. Wasn’t bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that its 5 STAR!
